Bowers & Wilkins Panorama 3

Image
One-minute review The Bowers & Wilkins Panorama 3 is a big, fairly expensive Dolby Atmos soundbar that the company has designed to beat the Sonos Arc on at its own game. To help Bowers & Wilkins achieve its aims, the new soundbar has a lot of speaker drivers, a lot of power, and a lot of control options.  Jump to Price and release date Design Audio performance Should I buy it? The quality of materials, construction and finish are typical Bowers & Wilkins - that’s to say, they’re pretty much flawless. Connectivity, both wired and wireless, is good - though HDMI passthrough wouldn’t go amiss. Performance, though, is profoundly impressive almost without exception. The Panorama 3 has scale, fidelity and dynamic potency on its side, as well as a winningly harmonious attitude towards music. If control with abandon, punch with finesse, and scale with precision sounds like your sort of thing, the Bowers & Wilkins will float your boat. But, if you first and f...

Samsung Galaxy S22 review

Image
Two-minute review It's hard to review the Samsung Galaxy S22 without making reference to its big brother, the Galaxy S22 Ultra . Now there's a phone with a radical new idea. Okay, it's an idea borrowed from the Galaxy Note line, but still, the Ultra stands apart from the S22 and S22 Plus. In fact, it makes the  Galaxy S22 feel a bit less-than.  But the S22 Ultra is a considerably more expensive phone, so we’d be comparing apples to oranges to an extent. So let’s focus on what makes the Samsung Galaxy S22 such a fun, attractive, and palm-friendly device. Jump to... Release date and price Design Display Camera Performance and specs Software Battery life Should I buy it? Also consider Put simply, the S22 has enough of everything. It pushes no boundaries in terms of photography, screen size, and battery life, yet it still compares favorably to Apple's $799 / £779 / AU$1,349 iPhone 13 .   Samsung's flagship phone provides more megapixels and sensors fo...

Asus ROG Rapture GT-AX6000

Image
One-minute review Asus’ ROG series has always grabbed the attention of gamers, and the ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 is no different. Why would you want a gaming router in your home? Well, if you’re looking for uninterrupted network performance for your PC or console, or want to make sure your mobile gaming is top-notch, then this is the router for you. The gaming features are certainly aplenty, but for regular home users this is certainly a model worth skipping. There are plenty of other great Asus routers that can service your everyday needs, so the GT-AX6000 will certainly be overkill. With its RGB lighting and aggressive build, it’s also something that you can’t easily hide away, so you’ll be forced to look at this futuristic router no matter where you put it. Wireless performance is good across the board, though we can’t help but note that the GT-AX6000 doesn’t support 6E standards, which is a shame given the product’s price point. Some might nitpick at this and just go for Asus’ GT-...

Antennas Direct Clearstream Flex

Image
30-second review Antennas Direct now owns rival OTA antenna retailer Mohu, but that hasn’t stopped the company from putting out some strong HD indoor antennas of its own. For example, you need look no further than the new Antennas Direct Clearstream Flex. Offering up a 50-mile radius of coverage and powered by an in-line power injector, the Flex is able to deliver much of your area’s local channels in clear HD without much of a struggle. For first-time HD antenna owners, Antennas Direct encourages you to download the free Antenna Point app that shows you where cable stations are geographically, and can then help you point your antenna in the right direction for the best possible signal. There are a few sticking points that we don’t love about the antenna including its window-filling size and potential to pull in fewer channels than other stronger models - but overall these are minor points that don’t mar the performance of this above-par antenna. Moon Knight

If there’s one word to describe Marvel Studios in recent times, it’s experimentation. From the commercial disappointment of Eternals to multiversal, fan service-y projects including Spider-Man: No Way Home , Marvel hasn’t been shy about taking creative risks with its post-Avengers: Endgame productions. Inventive as those Marvel movies have been, it’s Disney Plus where Marvel’s artistic license has truly shone. Disney’s streamer has provided a playground-like platform for Marvel’s creative juices to flow, with the sitcom styling of WandaVision and the multiverse’s initial emergence in Loki signifying a sea change in the studio’s creative process. With their character study-like exploration, multi-genre positioning, and entertainment value, it’s unsurprising that the duo are the most popular Marvel shows to date. It’s with Moon Knight that this newly-developed creative recipe feels like a truly innovative step for the studio, though. Marvel’s latest TV offering is a superbly sur...
