Nanoleaf Matter Essentials smart bulb: one-minute review The Nanoleaf Matter Essentials smart bulb is a minor update to the original bulb that was launched in 2021. Not a lot has changed with the new smart bulb, with the sole exception of the addition of Matter connectivity. This makes Nanoleaf’s new light a more futureproof option for a smart home setup. Before I go into the smart bulb review itself, let’s quickly run through why Matter matters . It’s a connectivity protocol that allows devices from different brands to interact with one another. Samsung Galaxy Tab A8: one-minute review The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is really quite surprising, coming in a build that belies its affordable price point. As the budget option to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 , you can expect some concessions to be made, but overall I was really quite impressed with it. For starters, the 10.5-inch LCD display doesn’t let you miss much despite being a step down from the AMOLED screen on the Tab S8. It’s sharp, clean and crisp with vibrant colors and a quick response rate, especially when compared to other budget tablets such as the TCL Nxtpaper 10s . TCL Nxtpaper 10s: two-minute review The concept behind the TCL Nxtpaper 10s is very noble – there’s 10 different layers on its 10.1-inch display, with a specific focus on reducing eye strain. This means that users can focus for longer without getting dry eyes. TCL has continued to work on this layered display, having just announced the TCL Nxtpaper 11 coming in May 2023 in Europe before releasing in other markets in the following months. While the main feature of the TCL Nxtpaper 10s is its layered display, it also seems to be the tablet's biggest hindrance. We applaud TCL’s work to create a display that filters out harmful blue light, however it comes at the cost of picture quality on this tablet. The matte finish looks nice, but you aren’t going to get sharp details with this tablet. One-minute review As the environmentally-conscious sequel to the Kobo Clara HD , the Kobo Clara 2E comes packed with a bunch of features that were noticeably absent from its predecessor. It’s now waterproof with an IPX8 certification, has audiobook support thanks to the addition of Bluetooth connectivity and double the storage capacity at 16GB. It’s also the first Kobo ereader to be made of 85% recycled plastic. The Kobo Clara 2E’s 6-inch display makes the upgrade to the latest E Ink Carta 1200 screen, which makes text look really nice, and it responds well too. The crisp display and good contrast help details to stand out well on the smaller screen. In keeping with its open ecosystem, Kobo’s latest ereader still offers wide format support that makes it easy to sideload your existing collection of ebooks and documents.
