HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8

Image
Two-minute review Though slightly missing the mark on the battery life segment, the EliteBook 840 Aero G8 Notebook checks off all the right marks for a fine productivity-focused laptop . Some impressive specs are housed inside the ultra-light 2.54 lb chassis, including an 11th-gen Core i7 processor , 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.  The 14-inch laptop also offers optional features like 5G LTE Wireless,  fingerprint reader, privacy protection screen, smart card reader and an IR webcam with a camera privacy shutter. But even if you don’t kit it out with all these fancy features, you’ll still get awesome-sounding Bang & Olufsen speakers and a comfortable dual point backlit spill-resistant premium keyboard.  Spec Sheet Here is the HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 configuration sent to TechRadar for review: CPU: 11th Generation Intel Core i7-1185G7 (4-cores, 3.00GHz) Graphics: Intel Iris Xe Graphics RAM: 16GB DDR4 Screen: 14” diagonal FHD (1920x 1080) IPS Storage: 51...

Logitech G335 gaming headset

Image
Two-minute review Logitech brought some bold creative design decisions toward their colorful G-Series Color Collection featuring mice, keyboards and gaming headsets. The G733 Lightspeed wireless gaming headset served as the newest device beyond product refreshes.  Gamers looking to go well below the G733’s $130 price range may want to consider the $69.99 (£59.34, AU $139) wired G335 as an option. 38 grams lighter than its wire-free sibling, the G335 lacks the RGB lighting on the ear cups, DTS surround sound, removable mic and only offers three colorways. What’s maintained is the angular chassis with reversible headband straps and breathable memory foam ear cups. (Image credit: Future) Like the G733, it’s simply fashionable and comfortable regardless of the length of your gaming sessions. The weight loss does make the plasticy feel like it could be easily broken, though. Meanwhile, audio and mic quality doesn’t hold up well against similarly priced gaming headsets like ...

Lenovo Legion Tower 5i (2021)

Image
Let’s be honest here, a majority of consumers can’t afford a gaming PC , despite PC gaming growing faster than ever. This is what makes the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i so great for folks just starting out with PC gaming. At a base-price of $949 (£999.99, AU$1,351.59 ), this entry level gaming desktop features a six-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super and a 256GB PCIe SSD alongside an extra 1TB 7200RPM HDD.  This hardware may not deliver the absolute greatest performance for AAA-titles. For example, the budget-friendly GTX 1660 Super included doesn’t offer ray tracing or DLSS capabilities. SSD storage is fairly low at a time where game sizes are increasing as well. However, it’s more than enough for today’s biggest esports games like Fortnite, Rocket League and League of Legends. Plus, upgrading the Legion 5i isn’t difficult when the time eventually comes.  Available now at Best Buy, the Legion Tower 5i sits pretty well against similar budg...

Razer Barracuda X

Image
Two-minute review There are more than enough options for quality mid-range gaming headsets with wireless capabilities including the Elo 7.1 Air Wireless RGB PC Gaming Headset , Corsair HS70BT , SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless and HyperX Cloud Alpha . Now, gamers looking for an affordable wire-free solution can add the comparable Razer Barracuda X to the mix. The $99.99 (£99.99, AU$149.99) gaming headset differentiates itself from the pack by offering wireless compatibility across PC, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch and Android via a USB-C dongle.  (Image credit: Future) While it only weighs 250g the ultra-lightweight Barracuda X doesn’t slack on the audio. Razer’s Triforce titanium drivers allow the headset to provide 7.1 surround sound compatible with both Spatial Audio for Playstation 5 and PC through THX. Add a promised battery life of up to 20 hours and the Barracuda X definitely deserves consideration among its similarly priced rivals. There are some dubious trade-off...

Hisense U8G Android TV (65U8G)

Image
30-second review Hisense has spent the past couple of years making outstanding TVs like the Hisense U80G ULED 8K TV that undercut the big dogs like Samsung , Sony and LG without many compromises. That continues with the new Hisense U8G ULED which the Chinese electronics manufacturer aptly describes as “Great For Everything.” It's a fitting description for the ULED 4K Android TV that’s sure to please everyone from gamers with next-generation consoles to movie lovers and anyone else in-between.  Besides offering a full suite of Dolby features including Vision, IQ and Atmos, the U8G also packs in HDR10+ and native 120Hz panel. All of this is controlled through the Android TV operating system that incorporates both Google Assistant, built-in Chromecast and voice controls with privacy switch.  All that said, if you're looking to purchase a well rounded UHD television that’s feature-packed without spending an arm and a leg you should definitely keep the U8G in mind.  Pr...
