Beyerdynamic Tygr 300 R

Image
When you think of a gaming headset , you probably have a specific form factor in mind – closed-back headphones with a microphone protruding out of them. The Beyerdynamic Tygr 300 R gaming headphones eschews this traditional form in order to provide PC gamers a new level of audio fidelity specifically tailored for those who like to get absorbed into other worlds.  As such, it's hard to find exactly what other gaming headset even exists on the same playing field as the Beyerdynamic Tygr 300 R, as its $199 (about £150, AU$280) price tag would put it in direct competition with the likes of the $199 (£199, AU$249) Razer Nari Ultimate or the $199 (£179, about AU$290) SteelSeries Arctis 9x . However, there are core differences right off the bat – the Beyerdynamic Tygr 300 R is wired, and doesn't have any of the gimmicks that typical gaming headsets rely on, as it all comes to Beyerdynamic's storied audio fidelity.  (Image credit: Future) And, really, that's precisely w

Lexmark MB3442adw

Image
Don’t judge the Lexmark MB3442adw by its size. This compact all-in-one device manages to include every feature a business class printer should offer and has a print speed that leaves most other lasers behind. Lexmark confidently recommends a maximum monthly page volume of 8,000 prints, one of the highest duty cycles we’ve come across, so it should service any small to medium sized business with ease. Costing around US$430 (about £334, AU$604), it’s not the cheapest mono AIO around, but its rapid print rate of 42ppm (pages per minute) and touchscreen interface justify the premium price tag. It also ships with a decent amount of black toner — enough for 3,000 pages. (Image credit: Jim Hill) Design and build The Lexmark MB3442adw comes in a surprisingly small and heavy cardboard box. The printer itself is conveniently compact, and yet it can hold a useful amount of A4 paper (350 sheets in the main tray). The tray projects out of the back of the unit, but only by a couple of centi

Chromecast with Google TV

Image
For years, the biggest complaint most folks had about the Google Chromecast is that it didn’t come with a remote. The consequence of not having a remote is that the Chromecast lacked an interface, making it a difficult device to use if you weren’t fairly tech-savvy. The Chromecast with Google TV – a.k.a. Chromecast 2020 – addresses this issue.  Google has added a dedicated TV interface that you control with a remote, and which gives you access to most of the major streaming services, including Disney Plus, HBO Max and even the streaming app of its biggest competitor, Amazon Prime Video. On top of that, there are a number of apps that have been carried over from Android TV, Google TV’s predecessor, that bring games and productivity apps to the streamer. The result is a retooled streaming device that, on the surface, might resemble its predecessors, but which offers a whole new experience that’s more user-friendly for folks who are used to using a remote control and an easily navigab

Nikon D3500 review

Two-minute review It might now be over two years old, but the Nikon D3500 is still our number one pick for the title of best beginner DSLR camera . Why? It combines all of the main strengths of DSLRs, including great handling and an amazing battery life, into a small, affordable package. The D3500's age also counts in its favor when it comes to price. It's now available for a lot less than its original asking price, making it a great choice for beginners who are looking to take a step up from point-and-shoot photography. What about Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday 2020? With the Nikon D3500 now over two years old, can we expect to see some discounts during the sales events that are coming soon? It's certainly possible. The first event is Amazon Prime Day , which is taking place on October 13th.
