4K Video Downloader

In this age of streaming, programs like the 4K Video Downloader prove that our lives do not have to be so dependent on being online. These days, media consumption has become so tied to having a network connection. But, being online is a slippery slope, and it’s understandable to want to go offline for a little bit without having your comforts taken away. Plus, it’s not all the time that we can have that robust connection required for streaming. When we’re on a plane, when we’re travelling or camping, or when there’s an outage in the area, streaming isn’t possible. This is why a lot of streaming services like Disney+ and Netflix are offering the ability to download movies and episodes. With YouTube, however, you won’t have such luck. The very idea behind YouTube is that visitors to the site – or users of the mobile app – watch videos online. This might be what Google wants, but it's not in line with what many people want. Or even need. Luckily, there are numerous tools out the...

Pzizz

Image
30-second review Pzizz is a relaxation app that makes use of psychoacoustics, with 'dreamscapes' to help you sleep, and 'focuscsapes' to improve concentration. Put simply, a team of dedicated engineers and developers have created audio recordings that combine music, rhythms, sounds, narrative and more to create the perfect mood. The app has three aims, helping you settle down and stay asleep at night, enjoy reinvigorating power naps when you need a pick-me-up during the day, and improve and maintain focus when you're at risk of distraction at work. All three modules, Sleep, Nap and Focus, are highly customizable, with a large number of audio tracks to choose from – but the free version of the app is limited to Sleep and Nap modes with a single track. Price and availability There are iOS and Android versions of Pzizz, with free and pro editions available. Headspace

Image
30-second review It would be easy to accuse Headpace of taking something of a scattergun approach because it has fingers in so many pies. But whether we're talking about guided meditations, yoga and workouts, guided sleepcasts, or any of the other content the app has to offer, there is a sense that serious care and attention has been put into creating something of real value. But while the content is great, it comes at a premium. The free version of Headspace is going to be too limited for most people, so an upgrade to the paid-for subscription is pretty much essential. While not extortionate, it's priced at a level that will make some people think twice – but if you can afford it, it really is worth it. Price and availability Headspace is available for both iOS and Android , and in each case there is a limited free version or a paid-for premium edition. A subscription to the premium edition will cost you $12.99 (about £10 / AU$18) per month or $69.99 (about £50 / AU$100...

Reflectly

Image
30-second review There are two main components to Reflectly : journaling and quotes. On the journal side of things, you are invited to share how you are feeling using an emoji-based system, but also to write down your thoughts, feelings and anything you may feel could be beneficial. Inspirational daily quotes pop up as notification based on what Reflectly has learned about you from your journal entries and mood tracking. If you feel you need support at other times you can browse through the various categories of quotations. It's a fairly simple idea, but once you manage to form a habit of writing on a regular basis it can be wonderfully cathartic. Inspirational quotes are often over-used, but with Reflectly's AI, they feel very well-placed. Price and availability There is an iOS version of Reflectly  as well as one for Android . You can try out all of the premium features of the app for a week free of charge, but after this trial period is up you will have to pay, or Ref...
