Xbox Series S two-minute review The Xbox Series S can be slightly challenging to separate from Microsoft's flagship console, the Xbox Series X, but once you start reading between the lines there are several blatant differences to differentiate the pair. Although it’s designed to take similar generational leaps as Microsoft’s flagship system, such as higher frame rates, super-fast load times, and ray tracing while maintaining a suitable low price tag for all budgets. But, of course, this comes with some pretty notable compromises.   Despite being a digital-only console, the Xbox Series S has significantly less storage than the Xbox Series X and primarily targets a 1440p resolution instead of 4K for gaming. It'll upscale to 4K when connected to an Ultra HD display, and a handful of titles can run at a native 4K resolution, like Ori and the Will of the Wisps. However, the console is primarily designed to run at lower resolutions, first and foremost.
