HP Spectre x360 (2021)

Image
Two-minute review With the HP Spectre x360 (2021), HP has gone to the next level. With last year’s model of the HP Spectre x360 , the company married portability with awesome power to create one of the best devices we’ve come across. And, the newer model seems to build on that with the inclusion of the much-coveted Intel Evo certification. HP is taking its highly popular prosumer 2-in-1 line to the next level. Much like the 2020 model , the HP Spectre x360 (2021) is marrying portability and sophisticated design with raw power. But, it hasn’t stopped there. This follow-up builds on that with the inclusion of the much-coveted Intel Evo certification, giving us one of the best laptops we’ve come across. By meeting Intel’s Evo certification specifications, the HP Spectre x360 (2021) has taken a huge step forward in laptop design and a big boost in performance over its predecessor. It boots up quickly and even takes on some casual gaming – though you’ll have to play with the settings ...

Dell XPS 13 (2020)

Image
Two minute review If you think that the Dell XPS 13 was a great machine before, then the Dell XPS 13 (2020) might just blow your mind. Keeping all the things that made the line among the best laptops for a decade now, this appropriate follow-up also comes with a few vital refinements like thinner bezels, an innovative webcam, and a solid boost in performance.  The Dell XPS 13 (2020) has finally cemented this beloved Ultrabook line’s status as the benchmark for all Windows notebooks. This update combines elegant design and top-notch display with impressive power and an unrivaled feature set. That’s without making any compromises or taking away any of the other things that have made the line so successful.  The Dell XPS 13 (2020) is one of the very premium laptops that are truly worth the (high) price even if it might be outside your original budget. It may not be the perfect machine, but it’s as close as you’re going to get for one, especially if you’re looking for a pre...

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1, 2020)

Image
Two-minute review Apple has done something special with the MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1, 2020). Just like the MacBook Air (M1, 2020) and the Mac mini (M1, 2020) that launched alongside this new diminutive Pro, the Cupertino company has ditched the Intel CPUs powering the previous models for its new M1 chip as the beating heart of the new entry. By doing so, the laptop line has gotten the kind of shot in the arm that Apple fans have been waiting for. That doesn’t mean that the Pro 13-inch looks or feels significantly different from its predecessor. The M1 chip may be a massive upgrade, but it’s the only notable one here. In fact, anyone with a 2019 or even an early 2020 model should probably wait a few generations before making the jump to an M1-powered Pro. With that said, the update is a big deal. Thanks to the new chip, it performs 2.8 times faster than its immediate predecessor, while also getting a boost in battery life. On top of that, it’s three times faster than comparable ...

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti

Image
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti proves that not all graphics cards need to redefine what a GPU is capable of. Most users will find the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 and the more expensive RTX 3090 to pack more power than they really need and at a price that just doesn’t make sense for their needs. The RTX 3060 Ti, however, makes Nvidia Ampere technology more accessible to budget-minded consumers. Just like its predecessor, the RTX 3060 , the 3060 Ti does a fantastic job balancing performance with affordability. ALthough it is Ampere’s newest budget option, its performance rivals, and sometimes eclipses, that of the RTX 2080 Super, one of the top graphics cards of the previous generation. That means that gamers can experience their favorite games at higher graphical settings with ray tracing turned on and at 1440p without breaking the bank. Though finding an RTX 3060 Ti in stock may be tough right now thanks to the shortages that graphics cards have seen this past year, it’s not imposs...
