ATLI EON Timelapse Camera review

Image
Two-minute review Shooting timelapse videos doesn’t have to be complicated, and the ATLI EON makes capturing these dynamic videos incredibly easy whether you’re capturing the progress of a construction site, a landscape, a cityscape or even a more intimate scene such as building a model or a flower opening. It’s a versatile camera despite its simple and minimalist design, and that’s part of what makes it so easy to use. Except for a power button and manual focus ring on the lens, there are no other controls on the camera, including no screen for adjusting settings. This helps to keep power usage low, with only Wi-Fi offering a 5m radius running alongside the camera as it shoots. All controls are accessed through the aTLi Cam app, which shows a live preview as you shoot with the ability to adjust settings during capture. The ATLI EON is small and lightweight at 2.1 x 2.7 x 1.9 inches / 54 x 70 x 50mm and 4.4oz / 125g with a battery. The kit comes with the ATLI EON camera, a silicone...

Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 review: a futuristic monitor with a backwards UI

Image
Samsung Odyssey OLED G9: Two-minute review Upon seeing the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 monitor for the first time, it truly is a sight to behold. A glorious 49-inch display size, Dual Quad High Definition (5,120 x 1,440), and 32:9 aspect ratio that’s guaranteed to extend the full length of your desk space. I adore the lighter color, as it immediately stands out and looks far prettier, especially paired with the gentle curve of the display. Of course, unboxing it isn’t so glorious, as its sheer size alone requires at least two people to lift it out of the box. Despite this, its weight is still quite manageable once you remove it from the foam packaging. Setup is simple, as you only need to slot the base into the monitor and then connect the cables as needed. No tools are necessary at all unless you plan on wall mounting the monitor, and even then it only really requires one piece. After setting up, it’s a matter of shifting it around to sit on the desk proper. It can be tricky but thanks...

Under Armour TriBase Reign 4 review: Truly excellent value cross-training shoes

Image
Under Armour Tribase Reign 4: One minute review   The Under Armour TriBase Reign 4 are a great pair of cross-training shoes, offering excellent value for money, especially at the now reduced price. Their wrap-around rubber soles are supported at the heel and toe, and feature a nice, wide toe box  – all the better for big lifts. However, these shoes aren’t just for shifting steel; the cushioning makes them ideal for short runs (I have been using them to run around a mile to the gym) and explosive plyometric movements, too.  They aren’t perfect, mind, with some users reporting quick wear of the soles, plus the glossy, vinyl-style laces come undone quite easily. However, at the discounted price afforded to older versions, the TriBase Reign 4 really do reign supreme. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a pair of gym-work buddies that offer better value.  Under Armour TriBase Reign 4: Specifications Under Armour TriBase Reign 4: Price and availability (Image credi...

Brooklinen Plush Down Pillow review: great for stomach sleepers just dont try to wash it

Image
The Brooklinen Plush Down Pillow is a luxurious pillow with down fill. It doesn’t contain feathers – which can be a good thing if you’ve ever been poked by feathers. One advantage to buying a Brooklinen Down Pillow is that you can select from three levels of firmness. I’m reviewing the Brooklinen Plush Down Pillow, since my preference is plushness – and I tend to be a combination sleeper alternating between my stomach and side and this pillow is designed for stomach sleepers. However, the Brooklinen Mid-Plush Down Pillow is ideal for most sleepers, while the Brooklinen Firm Down Pillow is designed for side sleepers.  I tested the Brooklinen Plush Down Pillow for over two weeks to see how it matches up to the rest of the best pillows on the market.  And if you’re looking for ways to really boost your sleep comfort further, take a look at our guide to this year's best mattresses for all budgets. Roborock Dyad Pro review: It'll keep hard floors spotless

Image
Two-minute review The Roborock Dyad Pro may be a one-trick pony; but it performs that one trick very well. This standup mop-vacuum is perfect for anyone whose flooring comprises mainly hard floors. In particular, flooring that may not do well with standing water – as you might experience when using a traditional mop. Is it one of the best vacuum cleaners available now? Yes, but only if you don’t need a stand-alone vacuum function; the Roborock Dyad Pro doesn’t do that. However, in terms of its mopping function, it offers a couple of settings with which you can either use it on full power to clean your floors, or conserve both water and power if you’re trying to clean a large area. While it isn't unique in the market, this wet-only vacuum from the Chinese-based Roborock – a company that’s made a name for itself in the vacuum market over the past 10 years – has very little in the way of competition, with only some offerings from Samsung and Bissell’s CrossWave line coming to min...

Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Multimedia Pro Thunderbolt Dock

Image
Satechi's Thunderbolt 4 Multimedia Pro Dock is a 16-in-1 Thunderbolt laptop docking station designed for workhorse laptops that need to plug into several devices simultaneously. This dock can add a unique display for Mac, utilizing the DisplayPort or HDMI options. While Apple limits the unique outputs to only one additional beyond the MacBook Screen itself, PC can use all four outputs at the same time. Unboxing and First Impressions Satechi released the Thunderbolt 4 Multimedia Pro Dock specifically designed for heavy users with a multitude of peripherals. Immediately after opening the box, I could tell that this dock is relatively thick, almost the same height as the IOGear Dock Pro , one of the thicker docks I have reviewed.  I love the streamlined look of Satechi's gear, with simple colors, sleek lines, and clean text. This dock is one that I wouldn't mind having out on my desk in the proper setup, but it also is one that I can easily tuck away, thanks to the port p...

Netvue Birdfy Feeder AI review

Image
Two-minute review Netvue’s Birdfy Feeder AI is one of the most widely available and premium bird feeder cameras on the market. It comprises the feeder and camera, and solid metal bracket to screw it to a wall or fence. Also included is a strap, which I used to mount it on a tree trunk, and there are also clips for mounting it on a bird feeder pole. There’s even a plastic Arca Swiss-style plate that you can use to mount it on a tripod, so you shouldn’t have trouble finding somewhere to set it up. The camera has an IP65 certification which means it is dust tight and water resistant. It’s well protected under the roof of the feeder, and there are covers for ports that aren’t being used. My review sample was outside during a storm, and has thus far survived.  Setting up the camera is easy – it connects to the Netvue smartphone app for iOS or Android, much like any other camera device, in this case relying on a QR code to help register the connection. Connecting to my home network vi...

MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo Laptop Review

Image
The MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo is the company's attempt to crack the best business laptop list in a lineup comprised chiefly of gaming computers.  The Summit E14 Flip Evo is a 2-in-1 laptop with a stylus that allows for use both as a whole laptop and the added ability to handwrite, take notes, or edit photos.  The hybrid nature of this laptop is part of what makes it stand out as a powerhouse productivity machine. Frequently we see 2-in-1s being OK at both, but we see the Summit E14 Flip Evo working well as a laptop to get some serious work done and a tablet. It probably won't be as comfortable as an iPad to be a media consuming device, but for signing contracts, marking up a document, filling out a form, or editing content, this laptop fits the bill. (Image credit: Collin Probst // Future) Unboxing and First Impressions Right away, when we unboxed the MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo, we fell in love with its sleek metallic design. The corners are sharp, with less rounding...
